MELT
As the name implies, these local scene veterans take a variety of sounds and melt them together. The result is a melty rockstew that incorporates: swing jazz, world beats, novelty music, blues, tango, psychedelia and twisted takes on covers.
A few years back, guitarist Danny Modern and bassist Paul Pipitone got together to combine elements that were dynamic and jarring yet still melodic; but most importantly-fun. Now to find a singer who could handle the variety convincingly.....Enter Lindsey Kyte, classically trained soprano. Her background was musical theatre and in choirs. Using this as a springboard, and mixing them with her quirky personality - Lindsey immediately complimented the band in new and exciting ways. Later drummer John Kokas, who helped as a sub, signed on full time. John brings a dynamic rhythm that includes elements of prog, fusion, latin, mediterranean, and african drumming styles.
They've just finished recording a second EP at Yebba Studios in Norwood, Ma. It's 6 high powered, dynamic rock songs and it's called Earthquakes.
