February's Better Late Than Never Edition
Sorry this is getting sent out a week later than usual - we've had quite a few new things happening at the cafe!
First of all we've updated our menu for the end of winter ...
We've added several items to the Cheese and Meat Coalition. Two standouts are the Ghost Pepper Salami (real hot but full of flavor) and the Fromager d'Affinois, a soft brie that is mild and buttery.
The majority of our wines have changed for the season. My personal favorite is the Moscato D’Asti from Piedmont CA. - a sweet wine but not overly so. Great for a dessert or with the aforementioned cheeses.
And of course our beer list has changed (as it does several times throughout the month). This week's feature is Ommegang's limited edition Aphrodite, a champagne-like with whispers of raspberry and pear - it comes in a large 1 pt 9.4 fl oz bottle.
But the biggest change around these parts was the arrival of Vilemina (Mina) Feldmann! 6lb 5oz of pure sass, this little lady has been working hard with Jack and Charlie, trying to learn the ropes of what it takes to be a good mascot at the Gulu. So far so good! |
