February's Better Late Than Never Edition

Sorry this is getting sent out a week later than usual - we've had quite a few new things happening at the cafe!

First of all we've updated our menu for the end of winter ...

We've added several items to the Cheese and Meat Coalition. Two standouts are the Ghost Pepper Salami (real hot but full of flavor) and the Fromager d'Affinois, a soft brie that is mild and buttery.

The majority of our wines have changed for the season. My personal favorite is the Moscato D’Asti from Piedmont CA. - a sweet wine but not overly so. Great for a dessert or with the aforementioned cheeses.

And of course our beer list has changed (as it does several times throughout the month). This week's feature is Ommegang's limited edition Aphrodite, a champagne-like with whispers of raspberry and pear - it comes in a large 1 pt 9.4 fl oz bottle.

But the biggest change around these parts was the arrival of Vilemina (Mina) Feldmann! 6lb 5oz of pure sass, this little lady has been working hard with Jack and Charlie, trying to learn the ropes of what it takes to be a good mascot at the Gulu. So far so good!

January 2012

Happy New Year!

We would like to thank all of our Gulu regulars, visitors and believers for making 2011 such a great year!  We are gearing up for an even better 2012. As usual we'll be changing things up on a regular basis. Expect to see new winter wines at the Gulu sometime before the end of the month, some new cheeses and pasta dishes, and of course new beers every week!

This month the Gulu is featuring old episodes of Doctor Who featuring the Cybermen! "You will be upgraded." Every Tuesday at 8PM!

This Wednesday is our Gulu Open Mic's THIRD Anniversary! Jeff Savlon, co-host of the Open Mic, reminisces in the newest issue of Art Throb (pick up a copy at the Gulu!).

First Thursday is always Cask Night - Fisherman's Brewery is hooking us up with the Dead Eye Double IPA - fresh and delicious! Tapping commences at 6PM.
